Mgr. Jitka Farkašová Drobílková

  

studied at the Prague Conservatory (prof. Zdeněk Kožina and prof. Eva Boguniová) and in 1994 she graduated from Prague's Academy of Performing Arts (Doc. Miroslav Langer and Prof. Peter Toperczer). She earned her Diploma with special prize for excellent academic and artistic results awarded to the best graduating piano major. During her studies, she was a student at Southern Methodist University in Dallas, USA 1991-1993 where she successfully completed the Artist Certificate Program, a special two-year program in performance.

The pianist was awarded the title of laureate at the Beethoven Competition in Czechoslovakia, she took part in Vienna Master Courses with Alexander Jenner in 1985,1986,1988,1991 and she played in Master Classes with Joaquin Achucarro and Halina Czerny-Stefanska. In 1990 she won the prize for the best participant - pianist at the Kammermusik Festival Austria.

She also has extensive experience playing chamber music and was a finalist at the Musica da camera Competition in Trapani, Italy. She was recorded chamber music for Austrian Radio (ORF) in Vienna, given concerts in Italy and Austria and received the prize of the Bohuslav Martinu Foundation for excellent interpretation of Martinů's work.

Jitka Drobilkova has performed as a soloist in the Czech Republic, Austria, Finland, Russia and the USA.

She has constantly proved herself a very accomplished pianist with a convincing performance and an expressive temperament. Her professional attitude and sensitive style make her a highly sought after chamber ensemble artist. (Performs recitals together with a member of the Czech Philharmonic – bassoon player Ondřej Roskovec and CD recording for Japanese CRYSTON, 2007).

At the present time Jitka Farkašová Drobilkova teaches piano at the Conservatory of Jaroslav Ježek in Prague.
